Audit / Action+++ Version 5.0 – Highlights

New Audit rules, and subsequent actions, can now be defined directly from the Audit log – Place the cursor on a log entry & press F6. Audit+++ will identify the entry type & pick up its variables. You can select to create an action & move to define select criteria, output fields & sorting

Improved support for High Availability (HA) – Certain HA products cannot function unless they manage the Audit journal receivers. Audit+++ was enhanced so having another application manage the journal receivers does not affect its operations. Real-time auditing continues to function unobtrusively in the background

Query Wizard Enhancements – Users can copy / rename existing reports in the Query Wizard. All fields can be selected by F21 when in the Output Fields and Sort screens. This enhances a users’ ability to create query templates and rapidly modify them for use in specific circumstances

Full Functionality During Maintenance Operations – Audit+++ no longer needs to be disabled during routine maintenance activities, such as backups, High Availability mirroring or installation of other software. Audit+++ was enhanced so it doesn’t lock the Security Audit journal receivers ensuring your system is always audited in real time

Performance Improvements – Several improvements have been incorporated in Audit+++ to further reduce demand on system resources and enhance performance

Log File Management – Administrators can now view summaries of the audit journal including the number of entries for each day and the amount of disk space used. Individual days can be deleted to conserve disk space. This also applies to ACTION+++ logs also

Reporting Enhancement – A new report format is available for reports containing too many columns for a single screen. The new format will present the record in a table format and then per line, the field name (column title) followed by the column value

New unique solution in auditing User Profile changes - A new Audit type was added to the product (C@), that allows you to receive detailed information on any changes made to iSeries user profiles:
    The exact user attributes that were changed
    Their former and current values

Major improvements in Audit+++ efficiency – Due to several changes in the product log procedures, we have considerably reduced Audit+++ use of resources without increasing CPU usage:
    More than 90% reduction in disk space and I/O processes

More than one user may be granted Administrator privileges – An administrator may grant privileges to other users to help administer the product. Use option 11 from the Maintenance Menu to create/maintain an administrator

Multiple print options - In addition to the *PRINT option, Audit+++ allows you to choose more advanced print options and even create new ones on your own

Log entries inserted automatically into the email subject - Up to 60 characters of the original log entry that is emailed by ACTION+++ are inserted automatically in to its subject

V5R3 and DBCS support – Audit+++ and Action+++ are now fully v5r3 compatible

Command+++ integration – Action+++ will respond to events triggered by the Command+++ module
